As we head into the final game of another crazy season for Sheffield Wednesday, our attention is starting to turn to the summer and what might happen!
As it stands, we need a point against Sunderland to guarantee another season in the Championship. If the team can go again on Saturday, then I don’t see why we can’t get that point or even a win.
But an even bigger question is hanging over us and that is, what is next for Danny? Will he get the backing that he is looking for from Dejphon Chansiri? Will Chansiri agree with the vision that Danny has and will both of them be able to come to some sort of agreement that keeps each other happy?!
Speaking to The Star Danny said: “I am very hungry for more and when you feel the atmosphere in the stadium you can feel that everybody is hungry for more at this club. The experience of the Championship shows us we must be prepared for a tough season and I think the biggest mistake you can make is to think it is good enough what we are doing now.”
He added: “Now we must make the next step and for this, we must bring all the things together on the table and we must speak about this. We have a clear direction on what we have to improve and if we can do this I think we can go into a good pre-season, this is important”
It’s clear from the way Danny speaks to the press when asked questions about his future and the future of the club that he really does have a plan for the club and it really does feel like he wants to build something with Wednesday. But as always the final say so will come from Chansiri, Danny has a list of things he wants to see improve and plans for moving the club forward, now it’s down to Danny & Chansiri to hold talks and see if the two of them can agree on a plan for next season.
Only time will tell what the outcome will be…..
